Position Overview

The Bar Back plays a crucial role in assisting bartenders by replenishing supplies to guarantee that they are well-equipped during events. This position requires adherence to all policies and procedures regarding alcohol service. The individual must demonstrate excellent attendance and be available to work as needed for events.

This role offers an hourly wage ranging from $16 to $17, plus tips.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the bar is stocked with all necessary items, including non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, ice, and other supplies. Duties include cleaning the bar area, moving kegs, and serving drinks as needed.
  • Verify that all equipment is clean and functional before events commence.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the bar and adjacent areas by following sanitation protocols, which involve mopping floors, cleaning mats, and managing waste disposal.
  • Identify guests who may be visibly intoxicated and communicate this to bartenders promptly.
  • Uphold sanitation, health, and safety standards within the work environment.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to maintaining excellent attendance.

Qualifications
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, event-oriented setting.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues, management, and guests, fostering a positive and cooperative atmosphere.
  • Possession of a valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit, as required by state and federal laws.
  • Basic mathematical skills for inventory management.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume bar environment is preferred.
