Job Responsibilities

Oversees a targeted caseload of high-risk individuals under supervision; conducts assessments, case management, and administrative functions. Utilizes evidence-based methodologies, including effective communication techniques, to foster positive change in individuals on probation. Engages with probationers, local agencies, and community resources to create and implement personalized rehabilitation plans. Conducts home and community visits as required by case circumstances and supervision strategies; prepares comprehensive reports, including Pre-sentence Investigations and sentencing recommendations, in a timely manner; provides testimony and insights to the court and legal representatives.

Essential Qualifications

Possession of a valid driver's license. Proven experience working with diverse populations of individuals under supervision, colleagues, and community organizations within a criminal justice or human services framework to achieve collaborative and individual objectives. Demonstrated experience in managing a high volume of cases, providing counseling, and maintaining accurate documentation of case activities in a dynamic environment. Proficient in gathering information, creating, reviewing, and presenting reports to relevant authorities. Experience in delivering human services, particularly in relation to probation and parole practices. The selected candidate must be eligible to obtain VCIN certification. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Additional Considerations

Advanced knowledge in fields such as Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Sociology/Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related area, or equivalent training or experience. Familiarity with Evidence-Based Practices and Reentry initiatives. Experience in planning and leading projects and training others.
