Department Highlights
  • Support multiple facilities within a 150-mile radius
  • Mileage reimbursement available
  • Additional $5 per hour for float assignments
  • Weekend shift differential of $1.25 per hour
  • Evening/night shift differential of $1.25 per hour; 6:00pm - 6:00am
  • Minimum of 24 hours required per month
  • One weekend rotation required monthly
  • Prior experience in Long Term Care is preferred
  • No contract commitment necessary

Position Summary

The Good Samaritan Society is in search of a caring and flexible Certified Nursing Assistant to become part of our team as a Travel CNA. This role offers the opportunity to provide care across various GSS locations within a 150-mile radius, ensuring competitive compensation, mileage reimbursement, and the flexibility of no contractual obligations. The CNA will assist with essential health care tasks, including daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and recording vital signs, while also offering psychosocial support and personal care to residents. The role includes assisting residents with mobility, utilizing proper techniques and equipment, and facilitating exercises.

The CNA will support dining experiences, ensuring a positive atmosphere during meals and assisting with food preparation. Responsibilities also include documenting resident interactions, communicating changes in condition to nursing staff, and assisting with housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living environments. Participation in wellness and recreational programs is encouraged, and involvement in departmental committees may be required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory.

Minimum age requirement is 16. Previous clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is advantageous.

Must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing or be enrolled in a training program to obtain certification within four months of hire. Training and certification will be provided by the facility.

Annual completion of department-specific competency testing and continuing education credits is required, with a minimum of 12 hours annually. All necessary certifications must be maintained.

For applicable states, registration with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry is required.

Depending on responsibilities, this position may require a valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle report.
