POSITION SUMMARY:

The Team Manager may be assigned to various segments of the operations at the Hunt Valley Plant, including areas such as Blending, Spice Fill, Milling, etc. This role may report to any Operations Department Manager.

Under the general oversight of the Department Manager, the Team Manager is tasked with overseeing and directing all activities and processes related to a designated team within the Hunt Valley Plant. This position is accountable for quality, safety, productivity, sanitation, continuous improvement, and all facets of personnel management. The primary objective of the Team Manager is to fulfill customer needs consistently while achieving key performance indicators that align with the department's strategic objectives, goals, strategies, and measures (OGSMs).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and support the daily management and prioritization of team members to meet or exceed all performance standards, including reliability, cost, waste, safety, quality, and sanitation.
  • Effectively lead, coach, train, and develop approximately 30 non-exempt team members, while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Proactively recommend and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Continuous Improvement resources to execute PM, AM, TPM/PRS, and CCI processes.
  • Integrate a high-performance culture by effectively utilizing the six systems in daily activities.
  • Interact cross-functionally to resolve issues and ensure that customer service requirements are met.
  • Work with teams to develop cultural and business action plans to ensure continuous improvement throughout the plant.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of one year of experience supervising employees in a manufacturing/production/industrial environment is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience leading others through projects or initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work across functions and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities to assess risks.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the financial implications of business decisions affecting staffing, product components, and inventory.
  • Proven ability to lead large teams to support business initiatives.
  • Demonstrated capacity to be a dynamic self-starter, work independently, and apply sound judgment to resolve complex issues with incomplete and/or ambiguous information, while proactively initiating action steps.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure, apply judgment, and seek assistance in prioritizing as necessary.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively to resolve issues.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to propose and implement enhancements to systems, work methods, and analysis techniques, contributing to their continuous adaptation to business requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in food manufacturing.
  • TPM experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of packaging/processing equipment.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise resource planning tools.
