Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Housing Specialist to join our team at Thresholds. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing affordable housing opportunities for our members by building relationships with landlords and identifying suitable rental apartment units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify available rental apartments in the Chicago Metro Area and provide suitable referrals to our clinical teams.
  • Ensure compliance with subsidy-providers and Thresholds procedures for housing members.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clinical teams on apartment referrals and assist with specific landlord and leasing issues.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with area housing providers and advocate for our members.
  • Manage housing resource data and disseminate it to agency program staff.
  • Track progress and outcomes of apartment referrals to teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with relevant experience may be substituted at supervisor's discretion.
  • Real Estate experience and understanding of the target population to be served.
  • Extensive knowledge of the City of Chicago and surrounding suburbs for travel purposes.
  • Basic knowledge of Landlord/Tenant responsibilities.
