Role Responsibilities

The Medical Lab Scientist in the Core Laboratory is tasked with facilitating patient care by conducting laboratory tests essential for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. This encompasses waived, moderate, and high complexity testing. Experience in a clinical laboratory setting with waived, moderate, and high complexity testing is required.

Key Duties Include:

  • Executing all laboratory tests, including the pre-examination phase, in compliance with standard operating procedures and accreditation standards to support patient care.
  • Implementing and documenting established quality control protocols on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; assessing quality control outcomes and applying corrective measures as per established guidelines to ensure the precision and quality of patient testing.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Science
  • Specific Degree(s): Medical Technology, Medical Technician, Medical Laboratory Science
  • No sponsorship available

Licensure and Certifications

Preferred:

  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) or equivalent
  • Other: Laboratory certification required (ASCP or HEW)
