Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
  • Financial Operations: Distribute expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivables according to schedules.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Perform statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and write narrative reports explaining findings.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.
  • Financial Auditing: Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
  • Financial Compliance: Determine proper handling of financial transactions and monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
  • Financial Error Correction: Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Financial System Implementation: Install, modify, and document accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
  • Financial Process Improvement: Conduct studies and submit recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; with 5 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Advanced knowledge of Accounting software; with the ability to use Database, Internet, Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
