Senior Project Leader - Chemical and Manufacturing Facilities

Precision Technology is in search of a Project Leader to oversee and direct a variety of consulting, environmental compliance, design, and design-build projects within the chemical and manufacturing sectors for several prominent clients across the United States.

This role is integral to our Industrial Division, which caters to sectors including Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Food & Beverage, Metals & Mining, Utilities, and Manufacturing.

As a vital member of our team, you will contribute to Precision Technology's mission by:

  • Overseeing multiple large-scale engineering projects simultaneously within the Chemicals, Petrochemicals, and Downstream Oil and Gas industries from initial concept through detailed design and construction phases.
  • Acting as a mentor and leader for multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Engaging in technical problem-solving.
  • Leading and managing teams across various disciplines.
  • Providing guidance and review at the project level while ensuring adherence to discipline and quality standards.
  • Leading proposal teams and formulating project strategies that result in successful project outcomes.
  • Utilizing experience and innovation to address complex challenges in your area of expertise.
  • Collaborating effectively with lead practitioners, quality managers, and key technical specialists.
  • Preparing and monitoring project budgets and timelines while assisting in contract negotiations and amendments.
  • Identifying opportunities with existing clients, particularly through the expansion of service offerings.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- A minimum of 10 years of related experience.

  • PMP (PMI), CCM, or DBIA certification is required (to be obtained within 12 months of hire or promotion to the Approved Project Manager list).
  • Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally as required.
The frequency of travel will depend on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary based on workload and project demands.
Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Experience managing infrastructure and/or environmental projects for chemical or manufacturing clients.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the preparation of engineering design packages for construction.
  • Experience in managing project scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Exceptional skills in communicating project findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Skills and Abilities:


Proficient in project management methodologies, including budget development, project planning, control, and assurance methodologies, as well as project management software and financial concepts. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks, and opportunities. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for effective interaction with team members and clients. Capable of managing a high volume of requests and interactions. Excellent personal computer skills, particularly in MS Word and Excel. Exhibits strong organizational skills to balance and prioritize work effectively.
