Patient Safety Advocate

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Safety Sitter to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities- Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for the safety of patients, observing their status for changes in behavior and reporting any observations to the Registered Nurse.
- You will ensure patient safety by providing a safe environment, observing the patient's surroundings for potential safety risks, and taking necessary steps to mitigate these risks.
- Appropriate interventions will be applied, including observation, redirection, and diversional activities, to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- You must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions and maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Additional duties and projects may be assigned as needed.
- A High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or equivalent programs (or in progress) are required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to performing patient observation.
