About the Job:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Concrete Infrastructure Technician to join our team at the City of Farmington. As a key member of our Street Maintenance department, you will be responsible for performing routine street maintenance and concrete carpentry duties under the supervision of our experienced Street Division Foreman.

About the Role:

This is a regular, full-time position that requires a valid New Mexico Driver's License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years. A Class B CDL is preferred but not required. If you do not have a CDL, you will need to successfully pass the Entry Level Driving Training (ELDT) course to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License within the specified timeframe.

As a Concrete Infrastructure Technician, you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks, including operating semi-skilled street construction equipment, working with various materials such as asphalt, concrete, and salt, and assisting in setting up and cleaning job sites. You will also be required to clean weeds, trash, and other debris from work sites, and perform custodial tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs routine street maintenance and concrete carpentry duties.
  • Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the City.
  • Determines the appropriate elevation, grades, and radii for form placement.
  • Performs concrete finishing duties.
  • Operates snow removal equipment.
  • Assists in setting up and cleaning job sites, including traffic control devices.
  • Cleans weeds, trash, and other debris from work sites.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience in a closely related construction field. You must also possess extensive background checks, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of concrete finishing and experience in the field of carpentry. Additionally, you should be able to perform math calculations and operate tools and equipment listed.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is approximately $17.21 - $21.17 per hour, depending on experience. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as retirement savings opportunities and paid time off.
