About the Role

PCL Construction is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Health, Safety and Environment Intern for the summer of 2025. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced HSE team and gain hands-on experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities
  • Assist site HSE professionals with inspections and incident investigations.
  • Support the orientation of new employees and ensure a smooth transition into the company.
  • Manage and review relevant safety documents, ensuring compliance with company and project standards.
  • Gather, review, and distribute safety-related statistical information to inform decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of project-specific HSE plans.
  • Deliver safety programs and orientations to site personnel, promoting a culture of safety and awareness.
  • Collaborate with the Safety department to implement HSE programs in compliance with company standards, state regulations, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Input safety-related statistics and daily/weekly HSE documentation into our company-specific database.
  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of the PSI program, conducting audits as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the HSE team.
Requirements
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel) and other construction industry-related software.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and hazard anticipation, identification, and assessment training.
  • Experience researching and compiling information regarding occupational health and industrial hygiene policies, procedures, and standards.
  • OSHA 10 Hour or OSHA 30 Hour Certificate of Training.
  • Authorization to work in the US (PCL will not sponsor an employment visa for this position).
  • 18 years of age or older and possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • Availability to work in Denver, CO, full-time from May to August.

The salary range for this position is between $18 and $24 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. PCL combines numerous pay and benefit strategies to provide a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package. Any salary range displayed by a job board is an estimate. Your salary, which considers your unique qualifications and experience, is just one component of the robust total rewards you'll enjoy at PCL.
