Life in Shenandoah National Park

As a Housekeeper at Skyland Lodge, you will have the opportunity to live and work in the beautiful Shenandoah National Park. With a great work-life balance, you can enjoy the park's many outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, and wildlife watching.

  • Shared dormitory housing is available for $50 per week, including meals, utilities, and Wi-Fi.
  • A shared fire pit area is available for use in the dorm area.
  • Meet guests and fellow team members from around the world.
  • Enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including rock climbing, repelling, cycling, fishing, and horseback riding.
Responsibilities
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize public areas, rooms, and restrooms.
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport trash to the disposal area.
  • Replenish supplies as needed.
  • Conduct regular walk-arounds to ensure the facility meets housekeeping standards.
  • Interact with guests and provide excellent customer service.
  • Report maintenance repair problems to the supervisor.
  • Ensure all lost and found items are turned in and logged daily.
Requirements
  • No prior experience is required, but previous commercial cleaning or guest service experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing of stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and carrying.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to inspect the cleanliness of rooms and surfaces.
Shift Details

Day shift, weekends, and overtime as needed.
