About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Skyland Lodge in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. As a Housekeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and high standards of our facility, ensuring an exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize public areas, rooms, and restrooms, including emptying wastebaskets and transporting trash to disposal areas.
  • Conduct regular walk-arounds to ensure the facility meets housekeeping standards, maintaining neat and organized linen rooms and work areas.
  • Interact with guests on occasion while cleaning guest and meeting rooms, providing excellent customer service.
  • Report maintenance repair problems to the supervisor and ensure all lost and found items are turned in and logged daily.
Requirements
  • No prior experience required, but previous commercial cleaning or guest service experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of various cleaning utensils, dryers, vacuum cleaners, tools, and fixtures.
  • Ability to work quickly under pressure and follow instructions.
  • Ability to make simple addition and subtraction calculations.
  • Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, climbing of stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and carrying, as well as occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
