Position Overview:


Join a prestigious academic healthcare institution as a Certified Respiratory Care Specialist. In this role, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess, implement, and execute respiratory care protocols for patients.

You will be responsible for coordinating and delivering direct respiratory care across all patient demographics, from neonates to adults, in accordance with established respiratory care policies and procedures.


As a vital member of the healthcare team, you will serve as a resource and mentor to fellow professionals, demonstrating the skills and knowledge necessary for effective respiratory care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure departmental productivity and adherence to operational standards.

2. Complete patient assignments in a timely manner with minimal supervision.

3. Avoid overtime unless authorized by the lead therapist.

4. Clearly explain therapy procedures and protocols to patients and their families.

5. Maintain a one-on-one relationship with patients throughout their care.

6. Follow proper identification protocols before administering care.

7. Interpret physician prescriptions to determine treatment indications.

8. Assess and recommend the most suitable respiratory care modalities for patients, notifying physicians as necessary.

9. Report any adverse reactions to nursing or medical staff.

10. Educate patients on effective breathing techniques.

11. Keep accurate records in patient charts and departmental documentation.

12. Perform blood gas punctures competently and interpret results proficiently.

13. Utilize monitoring and diagnostic equipment in accordance with established protocols.

Qualifications:

Required:
Completion of an accredited RRT program

Basic Life Support Certification from The American Heart Association

Must obtain Certified Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential within six months of employment

Submission of academic diploma or transcript

NBRC RRT credentials required for critical care training

Preferred:
Professional demeanor, ambition for career advancement, and essential interpersonal skills
