Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Community Education Coordinator to join our team at Joliet Junior College. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and tracking community education programs, as well as working with local schools to establish partnership opportunities and camps to support the education of youth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and administer the development, marketing, and delivery of community education programs, including Kid's College, Adult Community Education, and Disability Programming.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting, including preparation of required reports for documentation and budget purposes.
  • Develop new seminars and implement strategies to respond to current events or emerging topics.
  • Seek out grant revenue sources to support projects and write grant proposals in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Recruit and hire consultants/instructors to deliver high-quality training.
  • Supervise instructors, including evaluations and addressing complaints or disciplinary actions.
  • Supervise student employees and interns throughout the year.
  • Meet annual registration and revenue targets for community education programming.
  • Build relationships with the college community, public agencies, and community groups to support departmental programs and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Education, or a related field.
  • Three years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of training and development, adult learning, and curriculum design.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with clients and business customers, with a focus on customer satisfaction and learner-centered approaches.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree.
  • Previous experience in seminar development and marketing.
  • English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
  • Demonstrated multicultural competence.
