This position is an entry-level Surgical Technician role that requires working under the supervision of the surgical team in the Operating Room to deliver patient care throughout the perioperative experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Surgeon during surgery by providing the appropriate instruments and maintaining and organizing operating room equipment.
- Perform according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the department and hospital.
- Work cooperatively within the department and other services to create a system of quality healthcare.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or was employed as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility on or before July 1, 2013, or has successfully completed a training program for surgical technology in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard, or in the United States Public Health Service, which has been deemed appropriate by the commissioner, or is performing surgical technology tasks or functions in the service of the federal government or Massachusetts's Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist.
