We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Custodian Supervisor to join our team at Louisiana State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a custodial work unit to maintain cleanliness, sanitary conditions, and a favorable appearance of the university.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise subordinate activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols and efficient cleaning procedures.
- Schedule work and assign daily cleaning duties to subordinates, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Manage cleaning supplies and equipment, ordering as needed and maintaining proper inventory.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities to subordinate staff.
- Prepare work reports for management review and maintain accurate records of time, attendance, and supplies.
- Oversee the usage and safekeeping of keys and report any building or equipment repairs to the maintenance department.
- Transport custodial workers, supplies, and equipment as needed.
- Two years of experience in custodial, housekeeping, grounds keeping, or food service work.
- Physical ability to perform manual work, including walking, standing, and lifting.
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs multiple times daily and stand for extended periods.
- Capable of stooping, kneeling, or crouching and moving furniture/objects that weigh at least 20 pounds.
This position is subject to drug/alcohol testing and may be required to report or stay on campus in the event of an emergency or closure.
