Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Train Shipping and Warehouse Staff: Communicate expectations, provide training, and monitor employee performance and attendance to ensure quality and company standards are met.
  • Determine Shipping Priorities and Methods: Based on shipping notices, invoices, orders, and other documents, determine the most efficient shipping methods to meet departmental targets.
  • Coordinate Shipping Schedules and Monitor Freight: Communicate shipping schedules and monitor all outgoing and incoming freights to ensure timely delivery and minimize delays.
  • Inspect Loading/Unloading Operations: Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during loading and unloading operations.
  • Direct Movement of Goods: Direct the movement of goods from shipping points to storage and work areas, ensuring efficient and safe handling.
  • Resolve Product Returns and Defects: Investigate and resolve product returns, identify defects, and decide on repackaging or destruction of returned merchandise.
  • Maintain Inventory and Storage: Ensure accurate inventory levels and safe storage of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Conduct Inventory Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile inventory levels to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Ensure Compliance with Safety and Environmental Policies: Foster a safe work culture by ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies.
  • Provide Shipping Reports: Compile, sort, and analyze performance records and data to provide shipping reports and identify areas for improvement.
  • Foster Cooperation and Communication: Foster cooperation and communication within factory departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assume Temporary Leadership Roles: Assume responsibility for the operation of any department in the temporary absence of the Supervisor.
  • Resolve Personnel Issues: Investigate and resolve personnel problems by identifying solutions and implementing corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • Forklift experience
    • Experience with productivity tools like Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Independently motivated individual
    • Ability to maintain daily workflow and solve complex issues
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Collaborative work style
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with NetSuite, DSI, and/or UKG
    • Knowledge of FDA, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
