Position Overview:

Are you interested in contributing to a community-focused financial institution? We are seeking a dedicated Credit Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will utilize your analytical and technical expertise to perform comprehensive credit evaluations. This includes the collection, analysis, and interpretation of credit data for both current and potential clients and their portfolios. You will oversee customer accounts and loan portfolios to enhance credit quality while mitigating risks and potential losses. Additionally, you will assist in identifying any decline in loan quality and prepare credit presentations for Loan Officers and committees to aid in lending decisions for new, renewal, and extension loans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough examinations of files to ensure compliance with credit and collateral documentation, regulatory standards, and loan policies; address any technical exceptions and deficiencies as necessary.
  • Analyze financial information to assess the viability of loan applications, ensuring adherence to loan policies, and provide recommendations on structure and risk ratings.
  • Prepare accurate financial statement spreads, trend analyses, and collateral assessments in line with bank standards and loan policies.
  • Perform annual reviews of all significant credit relationships, adhering to authorized limits, and ensure compliance with the Loan Policy.
  • Assist in maintaining an organized tickler system and document filing processes.
  • Monitor loan documentation standards and promptly inform supervisors of any discrepancies; communicate with clients to ensure timely submission of required financial statements.
  • Stay informed about market trends, key economic indicators, and regulatory changes that may influence the bank's financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain a systematic approach to enhance and monitor quality.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess prior experience in banking, specifically in loan or credit analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with commercial, real estate, construction, and consumer loan underwriting, as well as loan portfolio management, is preferred. Preferred Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least two years of relevant banking loan or credit experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in commercial, real estate, construction, and consumer loan underwriting and management of loan portfolios is preferred.
