Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surveillance Officer to join our team at the Virginia Department of Human Resource Management. As a Surveillance Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting our Probation Officers in the supervision, surveillance, and investigation of adult probationers assigned to the Drug Court Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Probation Officers in the supervision, surveillance, and investigation of assigned caseloads
  • Investigate and verify information on alleged violations
  • Monitor supervisees and prepare reports and maintain required documentation
  • Collect pertinent information from various sources and maintain logs
  • Communicate effectively with inmates, probationers, and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of surveillance and investigative techniques
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Automated Databases
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with case management computer applications
  • Demonstrated experience making referrals to community resources
  • Working knowledge of electronic, voice monitoring systems, and/or Anytrax
