Job Summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse I will perform routine vocational nursing work, providing care, treatment, and general welfare to our cadets. This role involves administering medication, monitoring treatments, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medication orally, internally, or by injection
  • Monitor cadets for treatments and procedures
  • Prepare and maintain cadet medical records and reports
  • Assist in preparing and delivering in-service training and educational programs
  • Provide authorized medical services, including administering prescribed medications
  • Accompany and transport cadets to medical appointments
  • Coordinate medical appointments and provide medical support for Volunteer Community Service projects
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Graduation from an approved vocational or practical nursing education program
  • Licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse by the State of Texas or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
