Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical nutrition therapy for disease prevention and management to produce positive patient outcomes in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized nutrition plans for patients.
  • Conduct nutrition assessments and provide education to patients and their families on healthy eating habits and nutrition-related topics.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in clinical nutrition and medical nutrition therapy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or a related field plus successful completion of a supervised practice program for nutrition.
  • Eligibility to sit for the registration examination for Dietitians.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Successful completion of the Registration Examination for Dietitians within 6 months of hire date.
  • Obtains NYS certification as a dietitian-nutritionist (CDN) within 1 (one) year of hire or after passing the Registration Examination for dietitians.
