Job Summary: As a Registered Dietitian at Living Legends Health, you will work collaboratively with the Food Service Director, Diet Technician, and other dietary personnel to ensure the delivery of proper nutritional care to our residents. This role requires effective communication and rapport-building with various disciplines within the facility, as well as frequent interaction with residents on an individual basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial nutritional assessments for all admitted residents and participate in ensuring that menus for regular and therapeutic diets are nutritionally adequate and aligned with the approved facility diet manual.
  • Work closely with the diet technician to coordinate weights, meal patterns, nourishments, and meal supplement intake, as well as review and chart pertinent lab values as needed.
  • Counsel and educate patients, residents, family members, and facility personnel on proper therapeutic and basic nutrition in conjunction with the diet technician.
  • Monitor patient/resident meal, nourishment, and supplement intake and consistency appropriateness, making referrals to OT, Speech Therapist, Dentist, and Nursing as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Food Service Director to ensure that policy and procedures are current and reviewed annually, dietetic education programs are planned, and the facility diet manual is current and approved.
  • Attend interdisciplinary meetings as requested and review minutes of facility and dietary department meetings to stay informed of current events within the facility.
  • Maintain registration requirements in accordance with New York State and provide a copy of registration to the facility upon hire and with subsequent renewal.
  • Attend various meetings, including weekly comprehensive care planning sessions, and seminars outside the facility that are pertinent to job performance and credentials.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: Associates degree in Dietetics/Nutrition
  • Preferred: Bachelor degree in Dietetics/Nutrition
  • Minimum: Ten full-time equivalent years of education and supervised experience (1600 hours of experience/one year of credit for every 30 semester hours or education)
  • Preferred: Completion of your Bachelor Educational program experience requirements
  • Valid NYS Dietician license

Pay Rate: $34-$37 per hour, depending upon experience
