Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Survey Instrument Person to join our team. As a key member of our survey team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various surveying instruments, including total stations, data collectors, levels, scanners, and GPS. You will also be responsible for maintaining survey equipment, ensuring it is clean and dry, and reporting any broken or damaged equipment to the Party Chief.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate surveying instruments to gather data for topographic, boundary, ALTA, construction stakeout, and utility surveys.
  • Cut and clear brush and trees from the line of survey using brush hooks, machetes, chain saws, or other cutting tools.
  • Read and interpret various types of maps and plans.
  • Complete neat field notes and sketches.
  • Maintain survey equipment and ensure it is clean and dry.
  • Report any broken or damaged equipment to the Party Chief.
  • Ensure batteries for all equipment are fully charged on a nightly basis.
  • Keep survey trucks stocked with necessary supplies and tools.
  • Assist the Party Chief as directed.
  • Coordinate with other sectors and service lines to fulfill project needs.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of surveying experience preferred.
  • Experience in operating electronic survey instrumentation, including total stations, levels, GPS, and data collectors.
  • Customer Service and Client Relations experience preferred.
