Position Overview

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting MRI scans utilizing advanced magnetic fields and radio frequencies to capture detailed images of the internal structures of patients' bodies. These scans are essential for diagnosing and investigating various medical conditions, particularly those affecting soft tissues, such as tumors and neurological disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute intricate tasks related to the operation of high-field strength MRI machines to generate specialized radiographic images of designated body areas.
  • Evaluate and analyze patient medical histories to establish suitable imaging parameters, ensuring the accuracy of results.
  • Operate and maintain sophisticated MRI equipment, following established safety protocols and performing routine maintenance checks to guarantee precise imaging outcomes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals during MRI procedures, offering immediate imaging support to confirm accurate positioning and optimal image quality.
  • Document and record all MRI scans and relevant data in the Computerized Health Information system and Picture Archiving and Communication System, ensuring the verification of charges and addressing any discrepancies to facilitate a seamless workflow.
  • Undertake additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Education: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a Radiology, Imaging, or related educational program.

Experience:
Licensure/Certification: Required: ARRT (MR), MRI Technologist ARMRIT (MR), or equivalent; BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
