Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team at The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and assist with medical emergencies, alarms, and other security-related occurrences.
  • Perform walking and vehicle patrols of all campus buildings, grounds, and parking lots.
  • Conduct security surveillance on campus property, patrol buildings and grounds, check doors and alarm systems, and report any unusual situations.
  • Provide customer service to patients and visitors, provide information and assistance while controlling access to facilities and enforcing visiting procedures within scope of authority.
  • Warn violators of safety and security rules, and restrain persons engaging in hostile or criminal acts.
  • Protect accident and crime scenes and secure evidence.
  • Renders first-aid and Basic Life Support as a first responder.
  • Records log entries and incident reports according to established department guidelines.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must meet insurance standards and maintain insurability under ANTHC's insurance program.
  • Must possess Basic Life Support within 6 months of hire.
  • Previous security, law enforcement, or military experience is preferred.
Working Conditions

The Security Officer will be required to maintain physical health to effectively deal with stressful and potentially hazardous emergency situations. The ability to lift approximately 50 pounds and sit, bend, and reach is also required.
