Job Summary:

The Data Processing Specialist is responsible for compiling information from multiple sources for use on multiple production lines, as well as preparing data/finishing proofs for customer approval.

Quality control and attention to detail are crucial in this role. Formatted data, labels, affixing, proofs and first cards must be meticulously verified for correctness with regard to customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Specifications and Requirements: Understand and follow customer specifications, job tickets and production line capabilities to ensure quality, consistency and accuracy in attaining customer information.
  • Data Formatting and Integration: Format and integrate customer supplied variable data into DGI format.
  • Data Operations: Perform data operations for direct mail, including file conversion, address hygiene, merge/purge, postal presort, and file creation.
  • Data Proofreading: Prepare accurate data proofs for customer approval. Proofread data processing and production outputs: Data files, data/finishing proofs, cards and customer sample cards.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other departments to understand their needs and devise ways to accommodate them. Communicate efficiently and effectively with internal staff members to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Documentation and Technical Skills: Write and continually update documentation for all programs for internal reference. Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook. Windows Operating System. Adobe CC Suite. PERL (preferred, but not required).
  • Industry Experience: Minimum 2 years in the printing/packaging industry. 2 years' experience in a computer programming role. Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, etc. is a plus.
