Employment Type:
Full Time, 0.9 FTE, 72 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Work Schedule:
Day shifts
Compensation:
$50.00 per hour, including travel package/stipend options for local travelers within 75 miles. Opportunities for 13-week assignments with potential extensions.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
- Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- State licensure as required by law.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct various ultrasound procedures with a focus on patient care and safety.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Mentor and support new team members in imaging practices.
- Embrace continuous learning in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Ensure quality and safety standards are met at all times.
Sonographer Duties:
- Review patient history and physician orders, managing scheduling effectively.
- Educate patients about procedures and equipment to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications as per scope of practice.
- Continuously monitor patient conditions and respond to any changes appropriately.
- Select appropriate imaging parameters and exposure factors.
- Implement safety protocols and perform quality control on imaging equipment.
- Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures, analyzing results for quality assurance.
