Job Title: Life Enrichment Assistant

Riverside Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Life Enrichment Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Life Enrichment department, you will play a vital role in creating a engaging and inclusive environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and implement Life Enrichment programs that promote socialization, recreation, and personal growth among residents.
  • Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities.
  • Encourage resident participation and support in daily activities, outings, and events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and community groups to foster a sense of community and belonging.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of special events, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.
  • Provide transportation support for residents to appointments and outings, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Communicate effectively with the Director of Life Enrichment to address resident needs and concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and engagement in the Resident Engagement Record.
  • Ensure the appearance of activity areas, program supplies, and equipment is preserved and maintained.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse individuals.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software as needed.
  • One year of experience in social or recreational programming in a healthcare setting, preferred.
  • Fluency in English, verbal and written.
Working Conditions:

This role may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals. The physical demands of this position include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Cognitive requirements include executing tasks independently, expressing oneself clearly, and general computer literacy.
