Candidate Profile:

The Production Engineering Paint Department is in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic VWF Engineer focused on the development of resin components and jig systems.

The main objective of this role is to create designs for bumper and body jigs used in painting operations, ensuring that safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness align with established design specifications.

This position reports to the SE Manager and plays a crucial role in supporting the Paint Department's goal of innovating bumper jigs and analyzing resin structures for all new vehicle models.

Key Responsibilities:


• Design and develop bumper jigs, collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing sites to ensure quality, budget adherence, and effective feedback.


• Utilize CAE programs to enhance jig design and cleaning processes, applying Toyota Manufacturing Principles.


• Ensure resin components meet client specifications and provide constructive feedback to design teams.


• Generate reports that demonstrate compliance of resin structures and jigs with quality, efficiency, and cost standards.


• Collaborate with various PE and external teams to unify programming requirements.


• Conduct on-site trials in production to validate actual outcomes against planned expectations.

Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field with a minimum of one year of experience in plastics, painting, or a similar domain.


• Advanced knowledge and experience with CAE tools.


• Proven track record in developing and designing weld check fixtures.


• Proficiency in Catia V5 and Hypermesh CAE simulation software.


• Willingness to travel across North America, including Mexico, Canada, and Japan.

Preferred Skills:


• Familiarity with rapid prototyping and check fixture design.


• Experience in collaborating with suppliers to uphold project timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
