Role Summary:

The Ramp Operations Specialist operates in a dynamic environment, executing tasks related to ramp operations and ensuring flights are managed efficiently and safely.

Key Duties:

  • Load and unload luggage and cargo, transporting items to different airport locations.
  • Distribute essential paperwork to flight crews, including fuel slips, load plans, cargo manifests, and flight releases.
  • Marshal and push back aircraft.
  • Prepare weight and balance documentation and ensure load integrity by accurately entering commodity codes and weights into a data entry system.
  • Service aircraft as needed, including lavatory, potable water, aircraft cleaning, deicing, and security inspections.
  • Operate various types of equipment, such as belt-loaders, tugs, air-start units, bag carts, lavatory carts, and deice trucks.
  • Execute aircraft tow operations when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills:

Required:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Capability to consistently lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and grasp.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Participation in paid training that may require overnight travel.
  • Ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification.
  • Ability to secure airport security clearance.
  • Proficiency in English, high school diploma or equivalent, minimum age of 18, and authorization to work in the U.S.
Airport SIDA Badge Requirements:

Important update for non-crew employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar:

Employees must obtain a SIDA badge from the airport authority and maintain good standing to retain their SIDA badge.
