About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Engineer 3, DCC Communities to join our team at Amazon. As a Data Center Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of experience in data center or mission critical facilities and 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience. A strong understanding of BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
  • Perform limited maintenance tasks to include: filter changes, battery system PMs, and Rack PDU & Rack ATS replacements
  • Perform root cause analysis for operational issues
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack level events
  • Ensure all personnel on-site follow safety protocols
  • Work on-call and a rotating schedule as needed
  • Take daily operational readings and provide metrics reporting to senior engineers

Physical Requirements:

  • Walk job sites in uneven terrain
  • Work at heights and from ladders
  • Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or craw
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41 pounds or more
  • Carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds for short distances
  • Work shifts longer than eight hours in duration
  • Respond to off hour emergency calls
  • Maintain balance and perform construction tasks while on a ladder
  • Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment
