Job Summary

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely test results to aid clinicians in patient care. Your expertise will ensure that all quality control, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance are documented and maintained according to standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and document routine and specialized testing in assigned areas.
  • Correlate laboratory findings with disease stage and integrate data from other laboratory specialty areas.
  • Confirm abnormal results and specimen discrepancies and institute correct follow-up procedures.
  • Utilize judgment and discretion in considering sample integrity, process calibration, reagent concentration, and stability.
  • Notify patient care areas and/or physicians of critical values and document notification by following established policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
  • ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist within 1 year of hire.
  • Experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
