Key Responsibilities
  • Learn and Understand Plans and Specifications: Familiarize yourself with plans and specifications, including Operator's Manuals for equipment repair.
  • Use Hand and Power Tools: Learn to use appropriate hand and power tools to repair, replace, or perform maintenance on equipment.
  • Document Equipment Condition: Receive equipment assigned to the job and document its condition, setting it up on regular service and inspection schedules.
  • Organize Reference Materials: Assist with organizing a library of reference material, equipment files, and backlog schedules.
  • Assist Equipment Operators: Learn to assist equipment operators in effectively using the Daily Walkaround Report.
  • Generate Equipment Locator: Learn to assist the project with the generation of an accurate Equipment Locator.
  • Ensure Efficient Fueling and Oiling: Assure the efficient, clean, and safe fueling and oiling of equipment.
  • Prepare Equipment for Next Assignment: Assure that equipment leaving the job is job-ready for the next assignment.
  • Document Off-Hire Report: Learn how to document with the Off-Hire Report.
Requirements
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must possess knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
  • Communication and Instruction: Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Field Experience: Field experience in the chosen craft discipline.
  • Safe and Efficient Use of Tools: Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools, and layout tools.
Work Environment
  • Physical Demands: The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Weather Conditions: Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions.
  • Irregular Hours: Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.
  • Use of Equipment: May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Confined Spaces: Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces.
  • Noisy and Dusty Environment: Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment.
  • Physical Strength: May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across the construction/industrial site.
  • Required Tools: Must have required tools.
  • Safety and Project Rules: Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required.
  • Pre-Access Requirements: Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, fit for duty medical, and background check.
