About Early Education Program (EEP)
The Early Education Program (EEP) is Lane County's largest specialized preschool. Since 1981, we have successfully served preschoolers with special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and other developmental delays. In 2016, our organization expanded to also serve preschoolers from income-eligible families in the Eugene and Creswell communities through Oregon's Preschool Promise program. Currently, over 200 children attend our family of classrooms in Creswell, Eugene, Junction City, and Springfield.

Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Lead Teacher to join our dedicated team in Springfield. This role is focused on providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for preschoolers with special needs within our Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) classrooms.
Key Responsibilities- Classroom Management: Create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment that fosters positive interactions and optimal learning opportunities for each child.
- Curriculum Implementation: Effectively implement EEP's program curriculum, integrating relevant goals throughout the day to support individual student needs.
- Instructional Leadership: Lead most classroom activities, including transitions and circle time, while providing guidance and support to assistant teachers.
- Child Engagement: Prioritize strategies that promote empathy, reduce challenging behaviors, and encourage self-regulation in children. Collaborate with assistant teachers to implement these strategies effectively.
- Collaboration & Communication: Facilitate weekly team meetings to discuss curriculum, review child data, plan activities, and ensure alignment with Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs). Maintain open communication with families through regular updates and parent-teacher conferences.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Support the collection of data on IFSP goals and EEP Curriculum objectives. Utilize data to inform instructional decisions and track student progress.
- One year of experience working with preschool-aged children, preferably in a special education setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development and learning principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all children.
