Licensed Clinicians and Social Workers

Our FFT model offers a unique approach that deviates from traditional "billable service" hours, allowing for a highly flexible schedule that our therapists appreciate.

We maintain a manageable caseload (8-10 clients), enabling our Family Therapists to focus on meaningful clinical work and make a genuine impact on families and children.

*This is a hybrid position requiring travel for home therapy visits.
A Master's degree is preferred; however, a Bachelor's level licensed social worker/mental health professional with substantial experience is acceptable. We support your pursuit of clinical licensure.
Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in a licensable field such as Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related area is preferred.

A Bachelor's level licensed social worker/mental health professional with significant experience is acceptable.

Required:
Licensure as a Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Counselor.

Acceptable Licenses Include:
LMFT, LCMFT, LMLP, LCP, LPC, LCPC, LP, LMSW, LSCSW, LBSW
Preferred experience includes at least 2 years of full-time work or internship with at-risk populations, including individual, group, or family counseling.

Preferred experience includes at least 2 years of in-home service with the implementation of interventions within or between systems, direct use of pragmatic family therapies, individual therapy using cognitive behavioral techniques, and/or marital therapy.

Previous experience with FFT is also preferred.

This hybrid position allows for a home office setup for case management, with office space available as needed.

Eckerd promotes a healthy work-life balance, ensuring that leadership supports you in managing your professional and personal time. Travel and driving within the designated counties for required in-home visits are essential. Availability for 24/7 on-call crisis intervention for clients is required. Flexibility in scheduling, including nights and weekends, is necessary. Compliance with state criminal and Eckerd background screening requirements is mandatory.
Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) is highly desirable.
Passing a drug screen in accordance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy is required.
Duties & Responsibilities:

FFT Therapists are responsible for conducting assessments and delivering direct clinical treatment utilizing methods aligned with Functional Family Therapy (FFT) principles, documenting treatment efforts clearly to meet contract requirements and Eckerd policies.

Therapists will provide, at a minimum, weekly one-hour, home-based family therapy sessions to clients with adolescents aged 10 to 17 using the FFT model, managing a caseload of 10-12 families, providing services over an average of 12 weeks.

Conduct FFT assessments, including reviewing referral information, engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses, and analyzing the fit of problem behaviors within the ecological context.

Utilize the Strengths and Needs Assessment (SNA) both at the onset of treatment and at discharge. SNA must be administered within 72 hours of client intake.
Engage primary caregivers and other key participants in active, change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement.

Identify the nature of family relationships, risk, and protective factors for each family member, and the impact of behavior patterns on the family.

Implement a problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, and outcome review and strategy revision procedure using the FFT Analytic Process.

Develop an individualized service plan or update any pre-existing plan a youth/family may be working on at the time of referral.

Ensure involvement of youth and family in the plan development.

About Our Program:


Eckerd Connects' Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is a research-based, well-documented, and highly effective family intervention program for youth aged 11 – 18 involved in the juvenile justice system and their families.

Intervention typically ranges from 8 to 12 one-hour sessions for mild cases and up to 30 sessions of direct service for more complex situations, with an average service duration of three months.

Services are delivered in the family's home with flexibility to accommodate the family's schedule.
