Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team at Lancaster General Health. As a CMA, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, preparing patients for visits, administering injections, and performing various clinical tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for visits by using appropriate rooming standards tools.
  • Administer injections, as prescribed by providers and in accordance with practice protocols.
  • Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by providers in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing, including but not limited to hearing, flu, urine, and strep tests.
  • Remove sutures and change dressings on wounds as necessary.
  • Provide clinical advice by phone/electronic correspondence in accordance with established triage protocols and relay information to patients.
  • Authorize prescription refills as directed by providers.
  • Assist in test tracking and monitoring overdue results.
  • Assure exam rooms are adequately supplied and cleaned after each patient visit.
  • Participate in daily huddles with providers.
  • Provide exceptional patient experience by being a positive influence when interacting with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general equivalent (GED) required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHTR) required.
  • CPR Certification required: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support.
  • Valid driver's license required for Regional Positions.
  • A healthcare provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) to two (2) years of Medical Assistant experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office.
Work Environment:

This role may necessitate occasional regional travel. For Regional Positions, you will travel regularly to various sites within the region to support operational needs.
