Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Elizabethtown College. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing patients for visits, administering injections, and providing clinical advice by phone or electronic correspondence. You will also assist providers with various procedures, minor surgeries, and exams, as well as perform Point of Care Testing and remove sutures and change dressings as necessary.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for visits by using appropriate rooming standards tools
  • Administer injections, as prescribed by providers and in accordance with practice protocols
  • Provide clinical advice by phone or electronic correspondence, and relay information to patients
  • Assist providers with various procedures, minor surgeries, and exams
  • Perform Point of Care Testing, including but not limited to hearing, flu, urine, and strep tests
  • Remove sutures and change dressings as necessary
  • Authorize prescription refills as directed by providers
  • Assist in test tracking and monitoring overdue results
  • Assure exam rooms are adequately supplied and cleaned after each patient visit
  • Participate in daily huddles with providers
  • Serve as a patient experience advocate by being a positive influence when interacting with patients, visitors, and colleagues
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general equivalent (GED) required
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHTR) required
  • CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Valid driver's license required for Regional Positions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One to two years of Medical Assistant experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office
