Psychiatric Care Specialist

The City of Berkeley is seeking licensed physicians who are passionate about providing high-quality care to vulnerable patients in a collaborative community setting. As a Psychiatrist, you will provide psychiatric, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to members of the Berkeley community who are dealing with severe mental illness.
Our small clinic serves 260 patients, with varying levels of need, who are on Medi-Cal or uninsured. You will have the opportunity to work with patients in an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model as well as more traditional models, across programs such as our Homeless Full Services Partnership, Comprehensive Community Treatment, and Focus on Independence.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of an M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic school and completion of the third year of a psychiatric residency training program approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- Completion of a psychiatric residency training program approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- Possession of a valid license to practice medicine issued by the State of California
- Possession of a current Controlled Substance Registration certificate issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration

Exam Process:
The exam process will include, but may not be limited to, application review for minimum qualifications and required documents, tests that may consist of any combination of written, oral, or other exercises or assessment procedures that test content and may include, but are not necessarily limited to, typing, math, reading, writing, and analytical skills; problem-solving ability; computer and software proficiency, or any other job-related knowledge, skill, ability, or qualification.

Pre-employment Process:
