POSITION TITLE:
Patient Care Associate

This role is vital in delivering fundamental patient assistance to ensure comfort and enhance overall patient health.

The Patient Care Associate is tasked with gathering patient information, maintaining medical documentation, and performing various support functions to improve nursing unit productivity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Aid patients with everyday tasks and encourage their wellness by assisting with hygiene, mobility, and dietary requirements.
  • Gather patient samples and monitor vital signs, record patient care activities, and help with sample transport.
  • Communicate any changes in patient health conditions to licensed healthcare professionals and ensure effective dialogue among caregivers.
  • Execute assigned tasks under supervision, including blood collection and EKG monitoring.
  • Facilitate unit operations by undertaking receptionist and administrative responsibilities, maintaining patient files, and managing supply orders.
  • Assist with patient transfers and operating room turnover as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current BLS and CNA certification mandatory.
  • At least 1 year of experience in medical administration preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and computer proficiency required.
  • Successful completion of unit-specific training and certifications as required.
PREFERRED SKILLS

  • LNA certification preferred.
  • Recent experience in healthcare is advantageous.
  • Completion of a unit secretary training program is preferred.
