Certified Surgical Unit Care Specialist

This position provides essential patient care to ensure comfort and contribute to overall patient well-being in a fast-paced surgical unit environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with daily activities and promote their health by helping with hygiene, mobility, and nutritional needs.
- Collect patient specimens and vital signs, document patient care, and assist in specimen transportation.
- Report changes in patient health status to licensed professionals and ensure effective communication among caregivers.
- Perform delegated procedures under supervision, including blood draws and EKG monitoring.
- Support unit operations by performing receptionist and clerical duties, maintaining patient records, and ordering supplies.
- Assist with patient transportation and OR turnover as needed.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Current BLS and CNA certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of medical clerical experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills required.
- Successful completion of unit specific training and certifications as needed.
- LNA licensure preferred.
- Recent healthcare experience a plus.
- Completion of unit secretary program preferred.
