Role Overview:
The Electrical Assembly Technician will play a crucial role in supporting AST by executing electrical assembly, testing, and repairing industrial machinery. This position is essential for providing support to manufacturing operations both onsite and in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble industrial machinery in accordance with assembly drawings, procedures, and guidance from supervisors. A strong aptitude for electrical assembly is essential, while basic mechanical assembly skills are advantageous.
  • Wire electrical panels following provided schematics.
  • Conduct I/O checks on control panels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues.
  • Test machinery to ensure precision before dispatching to clients.
  • Drill and tap holes during assembly.
  • Revise engineered drawings when necessary.
  • Operate forklifts and utilize overhead cranes.
  • Engage in project meetings.
  • Assist with field installations as required.
  • Contribute to the development of procedures aimed at enhancing quality and productivity.
  • Adhere to all departmental procedures and work instructions, maintaining a clean and organized workspace daily.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by complying with all safety policies and procedures, reporting any safety discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Travel to client locations for installation and repair tasks.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a role as an electrical assembler or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Experience in a made-to-order, engineered-to-order manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Quality-focused with the ability to meet productivity targets.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, reliable, and thorough.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with others.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day.
  • Physical capability to bend, squat, kneel, and reach overhead.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, to meet customer deadlines.
  • Proficient in safely using ladders and multi-level work platforms.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally up to 30%, with minimal notice.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully pass a drug test.
