About the Role

Austin Industries is seeking an experienced Batch Plant Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our asphalt plants, meeting production goals, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Plant Equipment: Load and unload materials, operate plant controls, and maintain equipment to produce high-quality asphalt products.
  • Communicate with Teams: Collaborate with dispatch, paving crews, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Manage Inventory and Supplies: Receive and store materials, manage inventory levels, and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Identify and report any safety hazards, follow company procedures, and participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance, perform repairs, and ensure that all equipment is in good working condition.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction or industrial sector.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication and problem-solving skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and physical stamina to perform manual labor.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license and any required certifications for operating heavy equipment.
