Job Summary

We are seeking an Underwriting Technician to join our team at the Texas Association of School Boards. As an Underwriting Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our Risk Management underwriter team by handling member service inquiries, preparing renewal and new business proposals, and updating member exposure records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain missing and/or required information to prepare renewal and new business proposals.
  • Prepare renewals and new business opportunities for underwriter review in underwriting system, including updating proposal based on member questionnaire responses.
  • Update and maintain member exposure records using assigned platform.
  • Assist members with reviewing their exposures, including providing guidance on navigating the application and support in making needed changes.
  • Issue renewals as directed adhering to Fund By-laws, Interlocal Participation Agreement and the service agreement between TASB and the Fund.
  • Update Fund member contact records in designated systems.
  • Ensure Fund members have appropriate access to Fund secured applications, including granting and revoking access according to established policies and protocols.
Requirements
  • High school diploma.
  • Previous experience in insurance or public-entity risk pooling preferred.
