Job Overview

The Material Handling Specialist is tasked with the operation of industrial forklift machinery to efficiently load and unload a variety of materials, ensuring their proper movement to designated locations. This role emphasizes meticulous attention to detail to guarantee accurate and timely delivery of products, as well as the correct loading of materials into specified equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold the core values of the organization.
  • Dedicate efforts to delivering high-quality products to clients.
  • Identify and transport required materials to and from various locations, including machinery, loading docks, and storage facilities.
  • Review production schedules and shipping orders to confirm, verify, and transport necessary raw materials and equipment.
  • Utilize knowledge of machine loading capacities and schedules to ensure prompt and efficient delivery of items.
  • Employ protective materials and strapping equipment to secure loads; responsibly dispose of waste materials after delivery.
  • Report any issues related to materials or transportation to the supervisor.
  • Organize and stack drums, pallets, and other supplies in designated areas.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any mechanical or electrical issues to the maintenance team.
  • Execute additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with 2-3 years of experience in forklift operation.
  • Possession of a valid state-issued motor vehicle license.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully across various departments, comprehend detailed instructions, and possess basic mathematical skills.
  • Capability to operate equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.
Physical Demands:
  • This position requires consistent physical exertion in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Must be able to lift and move items exceeding 50 lbs. as needed.
