About the Role:

The Controller will play a pivotal role in leading the financial operations of the organization, ensuring the precision and reliability of all financial planning, reporting, and control mechanisms. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee financial reporting and budget management functions.
  • Establish benchmarks for evaluating the financial and operational performance of the organization and its departments.
  • Implement reporting metrics for early detection and correction of any unfavorable performance trends.
  • Lead the monthly financial closing process.
  • Analyze monthly operating results against budget and previous years.
  • Manage daily operations of the accounting department.
  • Supervise accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses.
  • Develop financial forecasts.
  • Conduct special projects and financial analyses for management discussions regarding product life cycles and pricing strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial reporting requirements.
  • Implement departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with audits and recommend process improvements.
  • Coordinate and report on physical inventory results.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate accounting staff.
  • Provide orientation on accounting policies for new employees.

Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, and internal control principles within a manufacturing context.
  • CPA certification is advantageous.
  • Experience with ERP reporting systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive reports and projections.
  • Proficient in budgeting and forecasting methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree in finance, accounting, or economics is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a managerial accounting role within a manufacturing environment.
