Job Title: Kitchen Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen at Rootstock. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in restaurant and bar management, possess excellent culinary skills, and demonstrate effective leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Kitchen Staff: Lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff to ensure seamless food preparation and presentation.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to sanitation and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and healthy work environment.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for food preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain optimal kitchen operations.
  • Training and Development: Train and mentor kitchen employees on best practices, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the restaurant management team to achieve overall business goals, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Weekly Back of House Scheduling: Manage weekly back of house scheduling to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience in kitchen management or a similar role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Skills: Proficiency in shift management, cash handling, and food service management, with strong knowledge of culinary techniques and best practices.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead a team effectively, fostering a positive work environment and promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Communication and Organization: Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Certification: Certification in food safety and sanitation practices, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy work environment.
