Accountant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team at Bluestone Development. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our financial records and data. You will also be responsible for preparing financial reports and forecasts, and for analyzing financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure complete and accurate recording of all financial business transactions by reviewing general ledger accounts and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  • Routinely and accurately prepare company books for month-end and year-end closing.
  • Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements.
  • Organize and maintain financial records and be able to produce for periodic external audits.
  • Oversee the accounts payable process, work with property site staff on AP related questions, delegate invoice data entry and execute weekly check runs.
  • Prepare monthly invoices for commercial tenants and perform annual NNN reconciliations.
  • Facilitate preparation of payroll and coordinate with 3rd party payroll provider.
  • Prepare and file various tax paperwork, including but not limited to annual 1099 forms and sales & use tax returns.
  • Actively monitor bank balances and be able to assess cash requirements for each entity.
  • Prepare and transmit deposits.
  • Coordinate construction loan draws during development cycles.
  • Document processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Identify unbudgeted expenses, process deviations, data entry errors and make recommendations to prevent reoccurrences.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of accounting or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience, preferred.
