We are seeking a reliable and skilled transportation professional to safely transport students. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, valid CDL with a school bus restriction, and excellent communication skills.

Job Description

Reports To: Transportation Supervisor

Supervises: No One

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for transporting students in accordance with Federal Laws, State Laws, and Pitt County Board of Education Policy. This includes operating and maneuvering a school bus with proficiency, establishing effective working relationships with all levels, and exercising good judgment in evaluating situations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Drive a school bus safely and professionally.
  2. Maintain order and discipline of students assigned to the school bus in accordance with the Pitt County Board of Education Policy pertaining to Discipline and School Code of Conduct.
  3. Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the school bus and notify the transportation department immediately of defects before the bus is moved.
  4. Comply with all Federal Laws, State Laws, and Local Rules, Regulations, and Policies.
  5. Maintain logs and complete reports as requested.
  6. Participate in training and workshops.
  7. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid CDL with a school bus restriction.
  • Ability to meet legal and physical requirements of North Carolina School Bus Certification and Pitt County Board of Education Policy.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations.
Estimated Salary:

$45,000 - $60,000 per year
