Electrical Power Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team at AECC-Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corp. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical power systems that meet the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical power systems for generation and transmission, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Specify and procure electrical equipment and systems, collaborating with vendors and contractors as needed.
- Supervise the installation, startup, and testing of electrical systems, ensuring they are safe and functioning properly.
- Develop and maintain accurate power system computer models for each power generation facility, utilizing software tools like AutoCAD.
- Perform calculations for protective device coordination, updating databases annually and identifying potential issues.
- Establish and document Reliability Standards related to electrical generators, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Design, specify, and develop software and hardware for new and replacement plant automated instrumentation and control systems.
- Assist in preparing budget estimates, researching technical reports, and consulting with power plant personnel on maintenance, troubleshooting, and operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical power systems engineering, with a strong background in design, development, and implementation.
- Knowledge of electric power systems, power plant processes, automation controllers, and ladder logic is desirable.
